The Ottawa Jr. 67's AAA Hockey Club will award an educational bursary in the amount of $500 to a Major Midget player graduating from high school in 2011. The Association may award up to 2 bursaries in any given year depending on the applicant pool and availability of resources.

The award will be given to a player who meets the selection criteria and is able to demonstrate;

Academic excellence,
Community involvement/volunteerism and leadership
A strong on ice work ethic and team spirit
A plan for future studies
Acceptance to a post secondary educational institution (as a condition of release of bursary funds)

Players graduating in 2011 wishing to apply for this award must submit a package consisting of the following documentation by the due date to the fax or email below. Additionally, nominees may be required to meet with the selection committee for a short interview as part of the decision making process. All packages must include the following to be considered:

An Ontario Student Transcript
A completed application form (attached)
A one page statement entitled "What Hockey Means to Me"

The deadline for submissions is March 31st, 2011. Short listed nominees may be interviewed at a convenient time after the deadline. The successful recipient will be notified via letter and electronic mail and will be expected to be present to accept the award at the Jr. 67's AAA Year End Banquet. The nominees and/or recipient's name and photo will be posted on the Ottawa Jr. 67's AAA website. The bursary winner will receive their award on presentation of an acceptance letter to a post secondary educational institution.
