Team Training and Conditioning – with Chris Schwarz and his team

It has been recognized that high performing teams/clubs are integrating off-ice conditioning into their training programs. Our new state of the art training facility exposes athletes to the most advanced training available while teaching solid fundamentals and techniques. The programs that we utilize have been tested on athletes from the NHL, CFL, OHL, CIS and various amateur levels. We concentrate on multifunction exercises that stimulate and promote functional strength, power and conditioning. Each of our programs also incorporates a strong injury prevention/prehab component designed by our medical professionals at the Ottawa Sport and Health Centre. All teams/groups will be assessed and screened in order to identify the needs of your individual team. (Programs for Ages 12+)

Our experience shows that most athletes are either training too much, too little or they are training improperly. Our recommendation is that the athletes train 1-3 times a week for approximately 60mins. The group is divided into two sub-groups, permitting each 30 minutes to perform the outlined workout before rotating. These sixty-minute sessions may involve a combination of spin cycling, resistance training circuit, speed/agility, stretch/yoga and or injury prevention. This will be based on your team/group requirements.

As part of the agreement, the 67's will play host to the minor teams for at least four home games on Civic Centre ice during the course of the season. "We were flattered when they approached us to wear our colors and our name," said 67's owner Jeff Hunt. "But I think it is important to emphasize that although only one team will wear our jersey, we look forward to supporting all the new AAA associations."
